                               Pastoral Staff

  • Eric Johns  - Senior Pastor

Eric grew up in a loving missionary family and came to know Christ as a young boy. He graduated from Biola University in 1998, married Amy in '99, and enjoyed working with youth for four years in Eastern WA. Eric and Amy moved to Fairbanks, Alaska in the summer of 2002 and now have 3 kids: Aiden, Elinor, and Augustine. Eric and Amy are passionate about discipleship, family, and the word of God. Eric also enjoys motorcycles, hunting, basketball, cross country skiing, reading, and spending time with his wife and kids.

  • Adam Pivec - Associate Pastor of Christian Education

Adam was born in the mid-west but spent his teen years on the east coast. He heard the gospel from many people over many years, but it didn't sink in until he heard it from a "crazy" street preacher during his time at college. He surrendered his life to Christ in 1990.

Through and after college, he had the honor of working with a variety of missions groups, spending three years teaching English in Japan and four and a half years distributing Christian media to countries in west Africa and eastern Europe while living in the UK.

Eventually God led him back to the US - to sunny southern California where he met his lovely and godly wife, Holly. He received his Masters of Divinity degree from Talbot School of Theology in 2008.

Adam and Holly moved to Fairbanks in 2009, where they have been happily living with their two healthy and energetic daughters.

  • Mark Holmes - Associate Pastor of Youth

Mark has spent most of his life living in Fairbanks, Alaska since he moved up here when he was 4. After leaving to attend Western Baptist College for a few years, Mark returned with his wife Diana to make Fairbanks their home. He has been helping with the youth group at Bethel since 2005 and since then has transitioned from volunteer to intern to Youth Pastor. It has been incredible to see God's plan unfold as he now leads the same youth group he was once a student in.

Mark and Diana have two high energy little girls that keep their lives busy and entertaining. Mark is a passionate sports fan and an avid indoorsman. He is a video game nerd at heart. When he can find the time Mark enjoys training for and competing in marathons and triathlons.

  • Ministry Team

  • Amber Rageth - AWANA Commander

Amber grew up in Southern California, and accepted Christ as her savior as a child. After moving to Idaho to attend college, she met Dale. They have lived in many places around the globe during Dale's Army career. When the Army moved them to Fairbanks in 2011, they decided to make the area their home. They have 2 daughters, Madison and Erin. Amber loves biking, hiking, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

  • Kathy Bertram - Children's Ministry Director

Kathy is excited to be serving the children and Sunday School teachers at Bethel Church as she has been blessed to have had a career serving teachers and children most of her life. She has worked as an Education Director and Researcher for Alaska Pacific University, and the University of Alaska, where she earned her Ph.D. in Cross-Cultural Education. She and her husband Mark have two children: Rosalee and Noelle. In her spare time, Kathy trains dogs as companion animals, and works on their "tricks" titles. She loves to read Christian historical fiction, and has been the lead singer in gospel folk and praise bands.

  • Sherina Anderson - Office Manager

Sherina was born in Fairbanks and has lived here all of her life. She was saved in Sunday School when she was 4 and rededicated her life to Jesus in 2005. She has been married to her best friend and wonderful husband Keith for over 30 years and they have two great kids, Jenya and Drew. Her interests include: hockey, praise dance, reading and spending time with family.

  • Laura McCready - Office Assistant

Laura grew up in Colorado and moved to Fairbanks in 2010 as a teen. She was saved as a small child but rededicated her life to Christ in 2011. She was a part of Bethel's Youth Group throughout her high school years, where she met her husband Lincoln.  She enjoys spending time with her family, baking, doing crafts and cheering on the Denver Broncos and the Golden State Warriors.
