Ted & Marilyn Franke
Ted and Marilyn Franke have served in the ministry of Christian Camping at Camp Li-Wa for 25 years. As of January, 2010 they became the Directors of Development for Victory Ministries of Alaska, the parent organization of which Camp Li-Wa is a part. During their years at Camp Li-Wa, God broadened the outreach from a three week summer camp to year around programs which include 8 weeks of summer camps, winter retreat programs throughout the winter, and military retreats and Bible studies. An indoor heated riding arena was completed in 2005 allowing further outreach to disabled riders, equine therapy for victims of abuse, a leadership development program for teens and ongoing horse lessons and special activities throughout the winter months. New for the 2010-2011 season will be an outdoor education component with a spiritual emphasis. At this time seven families are on staff at Camp Li-Wa, and facilities are being upgraded and enhanced for further evangelism and discipleship programs reaching Fairbanks and the rest of Interior Alaska.
