Online Giving FAQ

Questions & Answers

Are there any fees involved with online giving?

Yes, but not to you. You select the dollar amount for your gift, and that dollar amount will be recognized as your donation. You incur no additional costs or fees. Bethel Church pays approximately 3% of each contribution made by Visa or MasterCard for card processing services. You may want to consider increasing your online giving amount by 3% to help offset the card processing costs.

If Bethel Church wants to help people get out of debt, why is the use of credit card giving accepted?

Debit and credit cards can be an efficient tool for payments and purchases. Many people use them in place of a check or cash, then payoff the balance in full each month. For these people, we offer the option of using a debit or credit card for giving. Bethel Church believes and teaches that living "debt free" should be an important financial goal for all Christians. We recommend and encourage the use of electronic funds transfer (EFT) from a checking account* rather than a credit card. Although many pay off their credit cards each month, many others don't. We don't want to encourage anyone to go into debt and pay interest on any gifts given to the church. *EFTs are preferred due to lower processing costs than cards.

Why is online giving a good idea?

Giving online turns your intentions into reality with ease. After prayers, decide whether your desire is to make a one-time or recurring contribution. You don't have to remember to write out a check each Sunday or each month, or remember to mail it or drop it off when you're gone for an extended period. It's all entirely confidential. Giving online is a personal preference. Here are a few reasons online giving may be a benefit to you:
